With a fifth-place finish at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Jimmie Johnson reached new heights in the long and storied history of NASCAR by becoming the first driver to win four consecutive Cup Series championships

ROCKINGHAM!

Last weekend, the Langenstein's had an excellent weekend at Rockingham. They had the opportunity to make it outstanding! Austin ran a 2 day show at the "The Rock". Saturday, Austin was leading the race on the final lap before getting tangled up with a lapped car only to finish 2nd. A little disheartening but still a good run.
In sunday's race, Austin was also leading the feature with 1 lap to go and got "dumped" by the 2nd place car going down the back stretch! They black flagged the 2nd place car, while Austin raced back for a 3rd place finish!

RYAN GODOWN!

After reading this week's AARN we do know one thing about Ryan. He will not be back with Johnny Rea in 2010. They sure did have two good years together, I hate to see them part. Both great guys! Rumor has Ryan with Norm Hansell next season. We shall see how that shake's out. Ryan also stated that maybe he has had enough of the Pennsy tracks and he will return to New Egypt and run his own equipment? Where does that leave Johnny Rea for 2010? I am sure that Johnny will not just throw anyone in the seat of the R1. Lots of questions, soon we may have some answers! (Bruce Thomas photo) Click to enlarge!

HENDRICK MOTORSPORTS!

Can Jimmy Johnson pull off his 4th consecutive championship in a row this weekend? What an amazing accomplishment it would be for Hendrick Motorsports. This collage picture was sent to me by my "CPN" buddy Charlie Langenstein who works for Hendrick Motorsports. Charlie will be crossing all his t's and dotting all his i's before cutting loose the 48 team car this weekend. Good Luck to you guys down there! Hope ya get her done!!

Cool pic of the ever popular Show Car chassis driven by Tom Mayberry back when Tom drove for John Zemaitas and Zemko. Alan Johnson also comes to mind with the Show Car chassis. Alan had many good years with this chassis. Love that body style and the drag tires where the cat's ass!

GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY STICKING WITH ALCOHOL AS RACER’S FUEL IN 2010

BECHTELSVILLE, PA November 15, 2009. . . . After many discussions with car owners and engine builders Grandview Speedway owner Bruce Rogers has decided that the NASCAR sanctioned racing facility will stick with alcohol as the fuel for racers in 2010. “There was a lot of controversy created for no reason as we were only looking at the possibility of a change to gasoline in 2010,” said Rogers. “After talking with competitors and others involved in racing at our track we decided there was no reason to change from alcohol to gasoline. Every once in a while we take a look at possible changes but after talking with those involved in racing at the track we often decide not to make a change and that is what happened in this situation.” Rogers did point out that with more research it is possible that gasoline could be considered for use in the future but definitely not this year.
BIG DIAMOND RACEWAY IS ALSO FOLLOWING SUIT TO STAY WITH ALCOHOL!

BPG ANNOUNCES 2010 PLANS!

BPG RACING ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR 2010, HOWARD AND HOFFMAN SET

BLUE BELL, PA November 15, 2009 . . . Coming off a fairly successful season in which primary driver Duane Howard was able to win the 358 Modified title at Big Diamond Raceway and finish second in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series championship battle at Grandview Speedway, car owner Chad Sinon has announced that his BPG Racing will again field cars for Howard to chase the NASCAR title at Grandview Speedway in 2010. In addition Sinon will provide a 358 Modified for legendary dirt track racer Doug Hoffman to run in a variety of special events at Grandview Speedway, Big Diamond Raceway and other tracks throughout the area. “Our main effort will be with Duane Howard going after the Grandview Speedway Saturday night NASCAR title that has eluded us in the past,” said Sinon, a successful Blue Bell, PA businessman. “We have not made any firm plans for Friday night racing. We just may decide to test the waters at a few venues in 2010.” Howard has finished second in the Grandview Speedway point chase twice in the last three seasons. (Brent Smith photo)

FAST FREDDIE RAHMER

How about that Fast Freddie Rahmer last night at the dirt track at Lowes Motor Speedway. Fred started the feature in 13th position and moved his way up to finish 5th on a very tough to pass racing surface. Way to go Freddie. A good finish for us PA Posse fans! (Brent Smith photo)

Austin is gearing up for this weekend's running of the Spooktacular 100 at Lowes motor speedway on the 1/5 mile track. Charlie and Austin have their Cowpatty Nation stickers on the car and are ready to rumble!
Charlie said that it is crazy down here right now with the World finals taking place the same weekend as Austin's race. The WoO sprint cars and late models both battle it out this weekend. PPB TO SIT OUT 2010 SEASON!

News from Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. & PPB Racing Media Contact: Brett Deyo - 845.728.2781 or Deyo99H@aol.com For Immediate Release/November 4, 2009
PPB Racing To Sit Out 2010 Season; "Business As Usual" For Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, PA - The Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. dirt Modified race team will sit idle in 2010. PPB Racing owner Bob Greene has opted to take the 2010 season off to concentrate on his business interests.
The team was slated to field 358-Modifieds for Billy Pauch Jr. and Craig Von Dohren on a weekly basis at Big Diamond Raceway (Forestville, Pa.) and Grandview Speedway (Bechtelsville, Pa.) in addition to select big-block specials in the area. Pauch Jr. and Von Dohren are now free to explore other options for 2010. Schuylkill Haven, Pa.-based Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. will be open for "business as usual" along with Greene's other ventures. "I am stepping away (from racing) for a year to concentrate on my business," Greene explained. "I'd like to emphasize that Pioneer Pole Buildings will continue to operate for our customers in normal fashion." Greene broke the news to his drivers last week. "I made some commitments to both Craig and Billy (earlier this year)," he said. "I sat down with both of them, told them what I needed to do and they were both fine with it. I wish them both the best of luck." Pauch Jr., of Frenchtown, N.J., completed his second full season driving for PPB Racing. He was a feature winner at both Big Diamond and Grandview, placing sixth in the 358-Modified standings at both facilities. Boyertown, Pa.'s Von Dohren had signed on to race for PPB Racing in late September.
Previous drivers for the team included Keith Hoffman and Doug Hendricks. Greene has been a longtime sponsor of Billy Pauch Sr.'s big-block racing efforts along with backing several support-division competitors. He has also been active in the support of other racing-related events. Greene is leaving the door open to return to the sport. "I've met some great people, generated plenty of exposure for Pioneer and had a lot of fun," Greene said. "It's tough to walk away, but business comes first right now."

CHASE IS ACE'S!

Chase Utley has been en fuego versus the Yankees! Chase is batting .333 with 5 home runs and 8 rbi's against the Yankees. Utley is not one for the limelight, which is hard for him to avoid now. He is only the second player to ever hit 2 home runs in two seperate World series games. He also became the leading home run hitter as a second baseman. Hopefully Utley and the Fightin' Phils can keep up their winning ways for 2 more games.

CRAIG VON DOHREN
