BILLY DECKER

Had a quick chat with Billy at the autograph session at the Traffic Jam 100 at Grandview Speedway tuesday night. I asked Billy which one is it? The Franklin Flyer or The Thrilla from Unadilla. Billy's response, "You been talkin' to Fuller". Billy was referring to Tim Fuller who also often asks him the same question! Billy then followed by saying that he was born in Franklin and lives in Unadilla which actually covers both names.

THE OLEY BOYS SMOKE THE FIELD!

All I can say is...WOW! That arguably may have been the most impressive run I have ever witnessed over all the years I have been watching modified racing. I stood in shock and disbelief as the checkered flag flew over the 1C as he crossed the finish line 10 car lengths in front of 2nd place Duane Howard. I said, "Did that really just happen"? A small block that started 23rd in the field against some of the best drivers in the northeast running big blocks. The fans in the stands were ALL on their feet as CVD crossed the line. Like him or not, you had to love the show Craig put on last night! I myself will never forget that one!

Here are Eric and myself chatting with "Lightning" Larry Wight during the pre-race on track ceremonies at the running of the 2008 Traffic Jam 100 at Grandview Speedway. It was a pretty cool deal. They let fans out on the track before the start of the race to check out the cars and drivers. Brent Smith captured us talking to Larry who was making his first appearance at Grandview. Larry likened Grandview's similarity to Brewerton Speedway in New York. We still are not sure how Eric got the cold one out on the track with him?

This will be the scene before the 100 lap Traffic Jam at Grandview Speedway tomorrow night! Can one of our locals such as Duane Howard or Craig Von Dohren dethrone one of the New York boys tomorrow night? "Super" Matt Sheppard, Brett "The Jet" Hearn and Billy "The Thrilla from Unadilla" Decker plus more SuperDirtcar drivers will be on hand to try and keep our PA Cowpatties out of victory lane. Should be a good one and the weather looks superb!

Just want to wish Billy Pauch Jr good luck next week as he will be heading to midget speedweek in Indiana. Billy will be aboard the Burke Trucking midget. Most of the tracks the midgets run are 1/4 mile. Kokomo, Gas City, Bloomington and Lawrenceburg are all 1/4 mile tracks. Give em' hell Billy!

Duane Howard and Team BPG have been nothingless than spectacular lately! 4 out of the team's last 5 starts have been wins! The other resulted in a 2nd place at Grandview. Duane is up to 7 wins on the season. These wins have been not only at our local tracks Grandview and Big Diamond. Duane recently has wins also at New Egypt and Penn Can. Traveling to New Egypt and topping the regulars like Billy Pauch Sr, Frank Cozze and Jimmy Horton on their home turf is pretty tough to do on any given night. Last night running against the likes of Danny Johnson, Brett Hearn and Billy Decker isn't a lay-up either. The question when you get to the track these days should be, "Do you think someone can beat that #4 car tonite".
