SHANESVILLE!

Just wanted to throw out a big thanks for the good time at Shanesville last night! Eric and I had a great time! Ben, Billy, Michelle, Dan and Kim, it was alot fun hanging out with you guys! Thanks for the invite!

Billy filled us in on alot of racing news for the 2010 season. The Big Diamond car will be housed at the Pauch race shop with Billy as the owner of the car! The car will be black with alot of colorful graphics (orange) supplied the extremely talented Joe Adams. There is no doubt that the car will stand out amongst the rest of the field.  The car will carry the #T-102. Billy is extremely confident that it will be a successful season at Big Diamond for 2010.

The Eastern Rigging car will be the Grandview ride and carry the #11. The car will be yellow and Joe Adams has carte blanche on that ride's vinyl, so you can bet it will be a beauty. Billy has nothing but good things to say about the Nowartarski's and their upcoming assault at Grandview this season. The team won't skip a beat from last years productive effort that carries then into the 2010 season.

Pauch Jr will also run appoximately a dozen ARDC midget shows as his busy schedule allows.

The Kid's Kid, Looks like his mother and drives like his father, JR Nation and Sir William are a combination of nicknames that float about when spoken of Billy Pauch Jr. Billy, amongst other Young Guns that race modifieds in the great state of PA are the future of the sport. After a night out with Ben, Billy and friends, I think we are in good hands!

ATLANTIC CITY FRIDAY RESULTS!

Christopher Serves Notice With Gambler’s Classic Preliminary Win

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ –January 30, 2010 . . . Ted Christopher served notice on Friday night at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., as he claimed the 30-lap TQ-Midget preliminary main event.

Christopher of Plainville, Ct., the 2008 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion, got the lead from Joey Payne on a lap 19 restart and he held off Billy Pauch to claim the victory.
Christopher enters as the favorite for Saturday night’s 40-lap prestigious Gambler’s Classic. He is the defending champion of the race.
“I like my chances,” Christopher said. “I didn’t see anybody go as fast as us in the heat race. We’ll see what the Gambler’s Classic brings.”

Pauch of Frenchtown, N.J., was second, followed by Stewart Friesen of Niagra-On-The-Lake, Ontario, Canada; Matt Janisch of Nazareth, Pa; and Ryan Smith of Kunkletown, Pa.

Payne, a two-time Gambler’s Classic winner, paced the field early in the main event.
Christopher, who started fourth, moved into third on lap three. He moved by Janisch for the runner-up position on the fifth tour.
The first caution period of the race came out on lap eight when Mike Tidaback spun in turn one.
Christopher tried to pass Payne on the outside line, but he never mustered enough speed to pull off the lead pass.
“Joey had a strong car,” Christopher said. “He could keep it down on the inside line, and that’s the key line around the track.”
Payne’s car broke with mechanical problems on lap 19.
Tim Buckwalter finished sixth, Tidaback was seventh, Don Zrinski was eighth, Joe Lord Jr. was ninth and Chris Allen was 10th.

The top eight are guaranteed starting spots in the Gambler’s Classic.

Heat events winners for the TQ-Midgets went to Friesen; Lou Cicconi Jr., of Aston, Pa; Pauch; and Christopher.
Consolation races went to Chris DeRitis of Philadelphia, Pa, and Dan Dunigan Jr. of Jackson, Mich. DeRitis has the quickest lap in time trials with a lap time of 9.9098 seconds.
Slingshot qualifying event races went to Kyle Hieber of Langhorne, Pa.; Shannon Smith of Kunkletown, Pa; and Anthony Perrego of Montgomery, NY.
The Slingshot division will compete in the Herr’s Snack Bowl 25 on Saturday night. Paul Lotier Jr. of Lebanon, Pa. is the defending champion.
Champ Kart qualifying race winners were Bobby Timmons of Windham, Maine; Norman Hynes of Lithicum Heights, Md; Evan Beaulieu of Durham, Maine; and Coby Cressinger of Selinsgrove, Pa.

BILLY PAUCH JR!

Pauch Jr. and Fitzpatrick form Schaeffer's Harley Davidson Race Team

Billy Pauch Jr. and Shawn Fitzpatrick have joined forces to form the Schaeffer's Harley Davidson
Race Team for the 2010 season. The newly formed team will field a 2010 Bicknell chassis T102 inweekly 358 small block competition at the Big Diamond Raceway with Pauch Jr. behind the wheel.
With twelve career wins in as many years of competition, Fitzpatrick had decided to sell his small
block equipment at the end of the 2009 season, wanting to spend more time with his wife and three
children. Tim Fitzpatrick, Shawn's brother, would continue to run in the sportsman division at
Big Diamond which would allow Shawn to stay involved without the full time comittment. But when Pauch
found himself without a ride at the Schuylkill County track, the two long time friends started to look at
some other possibilities. Pooling their resources and talents resulted in the newly formed team.
"Shawn is one of the best when it comes to securing sponsorships, " stated Pauch. In addition to
Schaeffer's Harley Davison Buell in Orwigsburg, PA, the new T102 will receive primary sponsorships from
Ken's Tire Company, Jack Rich Inc. and Freedom Toyota. Product sponsors include Bicknell Racing
Products, Art's Radiator, Jones Racing Products and Greene Filters.
Fans will have their first opportunity to view the new Schaeffer's Harley Davidson T102 on February 13th at Schaeffer's Harley Davidson Raceday. To kick-off the Raceday event, there will be
a meet and greet the evening of February 12th at another team sponsor, Denny's Hotrod Bar & Grill,
Rte. 183, Cressona, PA from 9-11pm. Both of these events are free admission. Plans have been
made for the new T102 to be on display at Freedom Toyota in Hamburg, PA. Dates have yet to be
determined.
Denny's Hotrod Bar & Grill will host the team's kickoff party/fundraiser on Friday, March 5, 2010.
Tickets will sell for $10 and will be available at the door. More details to follow.

Big-Blocks Bolt To Grandview For Super DIRTcar Series Thunder Show

Big-Blocks Bolt To Grandview For Super DIRTcar Series Thunder Show

After 11 straight appearances at Grandview Speedway, the Super DIRTcar Series returns to the popular Pennsylvania oval on Tue., June 15 for the 12th running of the TRAFFIC JAM 100.
“We’re really excited to get the show back on our calendar,” commented Bob Miller, who promoted the event from 1998 thru 2008 before a scheduling conflict forced officials to drop the annual Big-Block Modified tour stop. “The timing is definitely better this year and we’re already looking forward to the series return.”
“We have a specific number of unique shows that need to be spaced out in order to work, to keep the interest high among both fans and racers. The Big-Block event has been moved up this year and that fits in very well with the current format,” said Miller, who has inked a half-dozen more specials featuring just as many headline divisions at the racy high-banked third-miler.

PEYTON MANNING!

Peyton Manning wins record 4th AP MVP
Maybe the award should be renamed Most Valuable Peyton.
Peyton Manning(notes) became the first player to win The Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player honors four times. The Indianapolis Colts’ sensational quarterback romped to the award Saturday in balloting by 50 sports writers and broadcasters who cover the league.

Manning also won in 2003, 2004 and 2008, breaking a tie with Favre at three MVPs.

Manning threw for 4,500 and 33 touchdowns this season. Perhaps most impressive, he led the Colts to all those comeback victories. The 33-year-old quarterback has started every game in his career, 192 in the regular season and 15 in the playoffs.
