3 Straight Heat Wins For Dan Green And The Just Mom's Ice Cream And Grille #46! (SDS Photo)

Bechtelsville, PA – The G & H Motorsports Team loaded up the #46 NASCAR BRC Dirt Late Model to race at Grandview Speedway on Saturday afternoon with high hopes for a good night. After stopping at their sponsor, Just Mom's Ice Cream and Grille to pick up sandwiches for the team, they arrived at the track.

21 NASCAR Bernheisel Race Car Late Models were in the pits for the biggest field so far this season. After the handicapping, Dan was scheduled to start 7^th in the 2^nd 8 lap Heat Race with Points Leader Chuck Schutz #1 starting 8^th. Taking his time and using some quick maneuvers to avoid George Irwin #2D and Steve Gross #62, as they had some difficulties, Dan was able to drive around Dirk Rimrott #92 on the outside to take the lead on the lap 3 restart and lead the remaining laps to take the win for the third straight week.

The Linda's Hair Techniques #46 needed to be ready for the feature so Scott Green, Cathy Green, Debbie Dutter, Todd Lapp, Jim Alexander, Bob Higginbotham, and Brett Higginbotham went to work.

Dan was scheduled to start 9^th in the 25 lap Feature event but Dirk Rimrott #92 decided to start in the rear so this put Dan 8^th. The green flag flew and Dan took his time and picked off cars and missed a spinning Lou Egrie Jr. #4e and was up to fourth on lap 24 trying to get by Rick Todorow #93. Schutz was able to get a run on the outside of Dan coming out of turn 4 to nip him at the line for a 5^th place finish. With the Top 5 Dan continues to be in 3^rd in the season long points battle with Schutz and Sean Merkel #118 first and second. Congratulations go out to Kory Fleming #704 for winning the Feature, the fourth different driver to win in the four races so far this season.

Big Diamond Cancelled 4/24

Racing action has been cancelled at Big Diamond Speedway for Friday, April 24. Projected below-freezing temperatures and high-winds forced owner/promoter Jake Smulley to make the tough decision.

“It’s unfair to expect the race teams to put their equipment at risk with this severely cold weather,” stated Smulley. “With tonight also being dedicated to kids it is in everyone’s best interest to regroup for next Friday’s racing action.”

Racing action returns to “God’s Country” this Friday night, May 1^st, with Leindecker Racing Engines Night as the Lias Tire 358-Modifieds have their first full-points show of the season. Joining the modifieds on the card this coming week will be the highly anticipated return of the ARDC Midgets along with points races for the Savage 61 Roadrunners and the Slifko Fabrication Street Stocks.  

The Searock Fabrication and Speed Supplies Modified Challenge will complete next week’s racing line-up. The challenge races will be determined by a fan vote. Look for details to be released early next week.

Top 10 For Dan Green and the Farmer's Insurance #46! (SDS Photo)

Bechtelsville, PA – Saturday was Dan Green and the G & H Motorsports #46 appearance at the Low Down and Dirty's Meet and Greet at Grandview Speedway prior to the nights race events. Dan's new sponsor, Farmer's Insurance Book Agency gave a way $10.00 Gift Cards for Wawa to fans when they signed up for a free insurance quote.

The second heat race went on the track with Dan starting 5^th. With starting further back in a race, sometimes you have to wait for openings to move forward and that is what Dan did in the 8 lap event. After the initial start didn't complete a lap because of mechanical problems for Kory Fleming #704, Dan took his time and picked off spots moving into the lead on lap 5. From there it was Dan's second Heat race win of 2015!

Scott Green, Cathy Green, Debbie Dutter, Liz Kulp, Jim Alexander, Bob Higginbotham, and Brett Higginbotham worked on the SquireSide CAFE #46 to get it ready for the feature. As the team got the #46 ready, Dan went to Fleming's car to help with repairs but the #704 sustained too much damage to continue and done for the night. The late model teams do all they can to help each other!

The 25 lap Feature event lined up for the NASCAR BRC Late Models with Dan starting 10^th. The race went green and Dan took his time, let it string out and started passing cars to move forward. On lap 17, Dan took over the 5^th position and that's where he stayed for the next 5 laps. During the event the #46 developed a fuel pump problem which hampered the progress of Dan and also dropped him back to 6^th with 3 laps to go as Joe “Geezer” Fanelli #22 was able to get by. At the finish Dan crossed the checkers in 6^th for another top 10 and moved him to 3^rd in points. The G & H team sends congratulations to Lou Egrie Sr. #x4 team for their 1^st feature win of 2015 and first since 2012!
