Hot Night For Dan Green And The Scott Chevrolet #46! (SDS Photo)

Bechtelsville, PA – Saturday means race day to Dan Green and the G & H Motorsports Team, this Saturday meant that the team headed north a little earlier for the Low Down and Dirty Meet and Greet at Grandview Speedway. As always the team had plenty to hand out and opportunities for fans to save money. Two scooters were given away, one to Austin Derstine and the second one to Madi, they were two of the many fans that signed up for free. Mike Book of Farmer’s Insurance was there to sign up fans to get a free quote, in doing so fans will receive a $10 Wawa Gift card.
After the Meet and Greet the team went back to the pits and got the car ready for the warm-ups, Dan went out and ran the three laps and the car wasn’t right. A cap for the fuel line came off and fuel poured onto the hot engine and when Dan came back into the pits the car had flames coming from it. With help from MANY crew members close by, the flames were put out with water and after checking everything, fixing the fuel problem and installing a new air cleaner, the Hot Rod Processing #46 was ready for the Heat race.
Lining up 6th in the second 8 lap heat race, Dan took the green and quickly got by #93 Rick Todorow, #16 Cory Merkel and #92 Dirk Rimrott to run 3rd when the 1st lap was completed. Dan followed #80 Bill Henning and #0 Kyle Merkel until lap 6 when C. Merkel got back by Dan. After a quick caution the race went back green for the last two laps as Dan finished 4th.
Scott Green, Cathy Green, Debbie Dutter, Bob Higginbotham, Jacky Higginbotham, Kati Horne and Brett Higginbotham changed a few things on the SquireSide CAFE #46, having to guess what the track would be like at the end of the night as the Late Models normally run earlier. Jim Alexander was also there along with special guest Desiree Neff who helped the team.
The Superior Racing Products Night Presented by Bernheisel Race Cars 30 lap feature was the last event of the evening and Dan started in the 9th spot. The green flag was thrown and as the field got to turn two, Henning spun and collected C. Merkel, Todorow, S. Merkel and Dan. With very little damage Dan restarted 16th for the restart, after one more try at a start the feature went green. Dan was able to drive through the field and at a lap 7 caution he was 5th. After the 1st lap is completed in the Late Model class all other restarts are single file so Dan was 5th in line as the green came back out. Two laps later the caution was waving again then the race went green for the last 21 laps and with two laps to go Dan got by K. Merkel to grab the 4th spot and took the checkered right behind Fleming. With the 4th place finish and Kory Fleming #704 finishing one spot in front of the Ken’s Towing #46, Dan is 7 points out of 5th in the point standings with one race left.
Next event for the G & H Motorsports team is Saturday September 5, 2015 at Grandview Speedway for the last points race of the 2015 season!

Great Day For Dan Green And The Farmer’s Insurance #46! (Bruce Thomas photo)

Bechtelsville, PA – The day started early on Saturday for the G & H Motorsports team as we had to put the finishing details on the LAZER X Chassis #46 that Dan Green races. The team then loaded the car and headed to The Parkesburg Point youth center in Parkesburg PA. During the time there the kids were able to get autograph hero cards and some were able to sit in the drivers seat! The team would like to thank Mike Book from Farmer’s Insurance and Amy Walton of The Point for having the team there!
With the appearance done the team headed to Grandview Speedway for the weekly racing events that includes the NASCAR Dirt Late Models. The heats lined-up with Dan starting 5th in the second 8 lap event. The race only had one caution flag for water on the track and Dan finished 5th.
The FOCUS Shocks #46 had some set-up issues that the team talked through and with help from Drew Weisser from FOCUS, Dan and Scott Green, Cathy Green, Debbie Dutter, Bob Higginbotham and Brett Higginbotham changed a few things to see if it worked. Jim Alexander just can not stay away with his broken leg as he was at the track cheering on Dan.
Starting in 6th for the 25 lap feature, Dan took the green and after just a couple laps got by Bill Henning #80 and Steve Gross #62 to run in the 4th spot. A caution on lap 4 for a multi car accident put Dan on Rick Todorow #93 bumper. Dan and Todorow battled many laps and after a few more caution periods Dan got by and started tracking down Kyle Merkel #0 and leader Lou Egrie Jr #4e. As K. Merkel made a move to take first he pushed slightly and Dan drove underneath to take second on lap 20. Dan stayed on Egrie Jr’s bumper the rest of the way to finish second for his best finish this year and move back up to 5th in the season long points. With two races left Dan is only 85 points out of 4th. A big congratulations go to Lou Egrie Jr. For getting his first career NASCAR BRC Dirt Late Model win!
Next event for the G & H Motorsports team is Saturday August 29, 2015 at the Low Down and Dirty Meet and Greet at Grandview Speedway in front of the main grandstands at 5 PM. Make sure you get to the track early as the team always has a lot of free stuff and chances to win other items. Then at 7:30 PM, Dan will have the Ken’s Towing #46 on the track to race in the Superior Products Night presented by Bernheisel Race Cars 30 Lap feature for the Late Models.

Dan Green And The Ken's Towing #46 Finish Just Outside Top 10! (Poppa Pepper photo)

Bechtelsville, PA – Saturday was a beautiful day for racing and the G & H Motorsports team was ready to make up for a disappointing race last week. We loaded up the SquireSide CAFE #46 and headed to Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville PA. The night was sponsored by Hennings Trains and there was a back to school give-a-way, by Geiswite Creations, to kids in attendance that G & H Motorsports was a part of.

Dan was scheduled to start 7^th in the first 8 lap heat race for the NASCAR BRC Late Models but Sean Horning #8m chose to start in the rear so this put Dan in 6^th. With the race going green the entire distance Dan was not able to move forward and finished in the 7^th spot.

Getting the LAZER X Chassis #46 ready for the feature were G & H Motorsports team members Scott Green, Cathy Green, Debbie Dutter, Bob Higginbotham, Jacky Higginbotham, Kati Horne and Brett Higginbotham. Even with having surgery on Tuesday for his broken leg, Dan's Uncle Jim Alexander was in the pits at the team trailer supporting the other team members.

Starting 15^th in the 25 lap feature event, Dan drove steady for the first few laps and was slowing moving forward but Rick Todorow #93 spun in front of him in turn 3 and with nowhere to go Dan hit nose to nose with the #93. With a quick stop in the pits for the crew to make sure there was clearance for all the tires Dan made it back on track before the green flag came back out. Though the damage was good enough to continue it wasn't good enough for Dan to run at speed to move through the field, he held his line and ran at the back until he was put a lap down by the leaders. At the next caution Dan pulled back into the pits done for the night. With a 13^th place finish, and loss of valuable points Dan dropped to 6^th in the season long point standings. With only 3 races left the team hopes for better results in those races.

Next event for the G & H Motorsports team is Saturday August 22, 2015 at The Parkesburg Point Youth Center for 1 PM to 3 PM for a Meet and Greet for sponsor, Farmer's Insurance the Book Agency, The Point is located at 700 Main Street Parkesburg, PA 19365. Then the team will travel to Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA as racing starts at 7:30 PM.
