Consistent Day Brings Another Top 10 For Dan Green’s Scott Chevrolet #46! (SDS Photo)

Coatesville, PA – August 27, 2016 – After last week’s good run Dan Green’s #46 NASCAR BRC Dirt Late Model was washed and gone over during the week to make sure everything was ready for Saturday night. The team loaded the car and headed to the track.

Welcome Back!

Before we get into the race info we want to welcome Bruce Rogers back to the track.  Bruce is the track owner and he along with his wife Theresa were in a severe accident in late January.  Bruce sustained major injuries and this weekend was his first time at the track this year.   He was driven around the track at intermission and received a standing ovation from the fans and teams in attendance.  Team #46 is proud to have been a part of the night he returned "home".

Heat Race

Scheduled 5^th in the first heat Dan started 4^th after polesitter Eric Hoch #00 chose to start in the rear. The green flag waved and Dan bobbled a little going into turn one and dropped back to 6^th. With the race going green the 8 lap distance, Dan knew he wasn’t going to advance his positions so he tried different lines to see what worked best for the Linda’s Hair Techniques #46. The checker flew and Dan finished 6^th.

Feature Event

The 25 lap Feature event started with Dan in 7^th and he held a good line but was boxed in for a few laps that let a couple cars by. He was back as far as 9^th when on a restart Steve Todorow #93 and Dan came together and a caution had to be re-thrown. Dan and Todorow were able to continue but both went to the rear of the field. Dan steadily passed cars coming from 11^th to finish 8^th at the checker. This helps keep Dan in 3^rd place in driver points with one race to go.

Congratulations

Ron Kline #3 picked up his 3^rd win in 4 weeks in the BRC Late Models. Duane Howard drove the Norm Hansell #357H to win the T.P. Trailers Modifieds Feature event. Ryan Lilick #142 won his 2^nd of the year in the Sportsman Class. Dave Smith #2 and Ron Myers #18 won the Blast From The Past Vintage Car Club Features.

Next Event

Championship Night at Grandview Speedway will be next Saturday September 3, 2016 as Dan tries to hold off the other competitors to finish 3^rd or better on the final regular Saturday Show. It will be a 30 lap feature for the Late Models with admission for adults $15 and Kids 11 and under free.

Look here next week for information about Dan and the team continuing to race after the Grandview Season ends. We are looking at other tracks that have Late Models running into November.

Great Day For Dan Green And The Scott Select #46, Starting With A Car Show And Ending With A 2nd Place Finish At Grandview Speedway! (Brett Higginbotham photo)

Coatesville, PA – August 20, 2016 – A long week for the G & H Motorsports team paid off with a good day on Saturday as the team had a lot of work done on the Scott Select #46 to be ready for their race car show and racing later in the evening. The day started early as the team loaded the car in the trailer and headed to Scott Select Pre-Owned Cars in West Chester PA. Once there the team set-up and welcomed the other teams who brought their cars to the show. During the course of the day the drivers took turns in the Dunk Tank for fans to win a free oil change by Scott Select. After the show the Grandview Speedway teams headed to the track to get ready for the regular show starting at 7:30 PM.

Heat Race

Dan lined-up 4^th in the first 8 lap heat race for the BRC Late Models. The race went non-stop as Dan battled Bill Henning #80 for third but was unable to get by and finished in the 4^th spot at the checker. Ron Kline #3 won the first heat race and Joe “Geezer” Fanelli #22 won the second heat race.

Feature Event

The Late Models were called out to the track to compete in their 25 lap BRC feature event with Dan scheduled to start 6th. The cars were lined-up and the pace laps were complete and the green flag was thrown. Dan quickly got by Henning and Shaun Horning #8m before lap one was complete then passed Byron Sipe #33s before lap 2. Dan drove passed Fanelli on lap 3 and recorded the fastest lap of all the late models on lap 4 while running 2^nd. Four time feature winner Brian Shuey #177 was leading as Dan stayed far enough behind to capitalize on any mistake that he may have made. Wayne Pfiel #72 was able to get to third spot and kept pressure on but Dan was able to hold him off lap after lap. The last 13 laps were very competitive but the positions didn’t change as Dan followed Shuey’s back bumper under the checker flag. The 2^nd place finish catapulted Dan into 3^rd place in drivers points battle from 5^th.

Congratulations

Brian Shuey #177 picked up his 5^th BRC Late Model win of the 2016 season. Craig VonDorhen #1C won his 100^th career T.P. Trailers Modifieds Feature event in regular Saturday night shows, he started his winning ways in 1981. Paul Kline #1 won his 3^rd of the year in the Sportsman Class.

Good To See

Lou Egrie and members of the #x4 team were in attendance watching and helping others at Grandview after their season was cut short from the accident that happened last week. Dave Ogin #31 was seen walking in the pits as he did not have his car at the track, he was second in driver points entering the night.

Next Event

Dan and the Hot Rod Processing #46 will be in action next Saturday August 27 as there are only 2 races left in the Grandview Speedway Points. Racing starts at 7:30 PM with adult admission at $15 and kids 11 and under free!

Coatesville, PA – August 13, 2016 – Hot! Hot! Hot! Mother Nature has been unkind to everyone this summer with either rain or heat and humidity. Saturday was a triple threat as we had all three. The G & H Motorsports team should have known what kind of night it was going to be with their trip to the track. The trailer with the Farmer Insurance - The Book Agency #46 inside blew a tire and the team had to make repairs before continuing to Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville PA.

Heat Race

Lucky the 8 lap Heat Race was uneventful for Dan as he started 5^th and finished 5^th in the nonstop race. Devin Frey #F62 picked up the win in his Lazer X Chassis.

Feature Event

This is when the evening got a little messy. The Late Models were called to staging area by the track and just as Dan was driving away from our pit stall there was a little shower that hit the track and the Late Models were sent back to their pit spots. After a short delay they were called back to the staging area and then to the track to line up for the 25 lap feature event. The cars got lined up with Dan in 7^th and paced the track for many laps as another light shower put some water on the track. Once the track was ready the green waved with Dan moving into the 5^th spot when the yellow came out for Shaun Horning #8m who slowed along the front stretch. The green was waved as the field entered turn 3 and as Dan was coming out of turn 4 the rain drops were showing on the GoPro camera mounted on the roof. As the cars exited turn 2, leader Frey slammed into the outside wall as he raced on the very wet track surface. The yellow came back on just as Frey hit the wall but it wasn’t soon enough to stop Drew Weisser #19, Lou Egrie #x4, Dan, Sean Merkel #118 and Wayne Pfiel #72 from piling up together in the accident with Frey. At this time the remaining cars were sent to the pits and the clean-up started as the rain stopped as quick as it started. Trying to be fair, the track decided that they would give the teams the opportunity to repair their cars and resume the race at the end of the night. Frey, Wiesser, Egrie and Merkel were all unable to repair their cars and were done for the night. With the #46 back in the pits the team went to work on the heavily damaged right side to make sure Dan was able to get back out when the race was to be continued. With three of the top four not able to make it out for the resumption, Dan restarted 2^nd behind Brian Shuey #177 who had slight damage repaired from contact with the wall when the rain hit. The race restarted and Dan went into the 1^st turn and the car pushed up the track and he lost a couple spots and as the race went green the rest of the way Dan had his hands full with the ill handling car to cross the finish line in 8^th spot. Dan was able to hold on to 5^th point position in the driver’s standings heading into the final 3 races of 2016 at Grandview Speedway. Dan also picked-up the $50 Gift Certificate from Cargo Trailer Sales in Lansdale PA, that might be going towards a new trailer tire.

Congratulations

Ron Kline #3 who picked up his 2^nd Late Model win in a row and 2^nd of the season. Craig VonDorhen #1C won his 7^th Forrest Rodgers Memorial picking up the $10,000 payday in the T.P. Trailers Modifieds and Dylan Swinehart #38 won his first career Sportsman Feature win.

Unfortunate Loss To The Division

Due to the rain and the decision to go green in the Late Model feature the division lost the cars of Lou Egrie #x4, Drew Weisser #19 and Devon Frey #62F as their cars sustained too much damage to get repairs made to finish the year at Grandview Speedway.

Next Event

Next Saturday August 20 there will be a car show at Scott Select Pre-Owned Cars in West Chester PA featuring Dan and the Scott Select #46 NASCAR BRC Late Model! Plans are being made now to have several other Grandview Speedway cars including #22 Joe “Geezer” Fanelli currently 9^th in Late Model points, Mike Gular #2 who is 2^nd in the T.P. Trailers Modifieds, Nate Mohr #17m Sportsman, Ryan and Kyle Lilick #142 and #104, they are sitting 5^th and 14^th in Sportsman points respectively. Todd Lapp #PB and Ron Meyers #18 will have their Blast From The Past Vintage cars there as well. Bob Higginbotham, past Grandview Speedway Late Model Champion will also be on hand for the day! Then the teams head to Grandview Speedway for the 7:30 PM start time, adult admission is #15 as children 11 and under are free.
