Brett Thayer Night!

Here is clip from Gary Silverman's DVD from Whelen/Brett Thayer Night at Grandview Speedway on June 28, 2008. I was mumblin' and stumblin' over my words! I guess thats why you need to be prepared for this sort of thing instead of just wingin' it!

RYAN GODOWN!

TIM MCCREADIE!

I sure hope Tim McCreadie makes an amazing recovery! I sure would love to see him run Grandview with the World of Outlaw Late Models on August 13th! Here is the latest on T-Mac's condition!

Tim Meets With Dr. Trammell ... Returning Home Thursday
Tim's good friend James Spink took Timmy to see Dr. Terry Trammell today for a thorough evaluation. He was re-diagnosed as having a burst fracture, instead of a compression fracture as he was previously told in Tulsa, and the internal bleeding should heal on its own. Bottom line was that he was extremely fortunate by a mere 1/8 of an inch.Dr. Trammell wants Tim to remain in the neck and back brace whenever he is in an upright position and encouraged him to remain active, he believes bones heal faster when the body is active, and suggested a workout that he can perform on his own. Tim has been released to return home to New York tomorrow (Thursday) and will be re-evaluated by Dr. Trammell in three months. He also gave Tim a list of measurements he wanted to review from his belts, seat, etc., and made some safety equipment recommendations for when he eventually begins driving again.

SYRACUSE TUNNEL!

Here is a pic of the tunnel we walk through to get to the pit area & infield at Syracuse in 1976! The tunnel was flooded all the way to the top! UNBELIEVABLE!!

BEER EXCHANGE!

We had our beer exchange today at work! Pretty cool! We had 8 people who brought different types of imported beer costing more than $30 a case! I brought Newcastle Brown ale. Came home with 24 bottles of 8 different kinds of beer that I have never tried! Looking forward to trying a few out on Super Bowl Sunday!

DOUG MANMILLER!

Here is a good pic of the new Breitenstein 14 that will be driven by Doug Manmiller this season at Grandview Speedway! I think this is the BEST this car has looked in years! Notice the GMI (Greg Sarangoulis) is the primary sponsor for this car! Not a sign of Manmiller Electric as far as I can see? Doug used to work & drive for Greg back in the day! Also on the car is Dick Biever's sponsorship! Doug hooked up with a good guy there to run the with at BDR and maybe Cuse if things go well? We shall see? I especially like that they stuck with the bulls-eye around the number! The car also carries the signature "moon-eyes" on the front of the hood! S-E-C-U-R-I-T-Y !!!!!!!!!!!

STRAPPED IN WITH JEFF STRUNK & VINCE GAGLIARDO JR

Here is an interview with Jeff Strunk & Vince Gagliardo Jr on the BCTV show Strapped in with Mike Feltenberger! Its a great interview! It runs 57+ minutes, so have some time put aside to watch it! Click this link to take you to the show:

Just wanted to welcome Jamie from ClubWago to the Cowpatty Nation!! Jamie is a fellow UT supporter and one of the founders of ClubWago! Man, we missed the BIG CUSE Bash last fall! I found out about the bash after talking to Johnny Rea the following day! He said it was a real good time! We will be sure not to miss it this year! Jamie writes a great blog with tons of facts & news on upcoming drivers & events for ALL the things we live for...DIRT TRACK RACING! Jamie gets alot of information 1st hand and straight from the drivers! So if your reading it...its happening! Here is the link to the Blog: http://clubwago.blogspot.com/ I also added the blog to the links on the sidebar. Jamie feel free to pass our site onto your fellow race posse! Hope you get some enjoyment out of it like we all are!! Feel free to join in on anything! WELCOME AGAIN!

You gotta be kidding...another 712!!

I really like this 712! It kind of reminds me of Pauchy's #1 that he kicked butt in! Similar colors! There is a sponsor on this one that should give the driver away? Who was the driver of this bad-ass 712?

VON DOHREN LIVESTOCK!

Here is a pic of Craig at Grandview in the early days! I loved this car! Craig got some wins with this car! This is where the CVD blue started! I drew many a picture of this car as a teenager! The "Mom" on the hood with the "Craig" running down the hood was cool! Back then I remember Craig in victory lane wearing Converse All-Star high-tops! Basketball sneaks instead of racing shoes, pretty wild!

TOUGH LOSS!

That loss is still tough to get over! Donovan had a rough 1st half, as did the Eagle defense unable to put the wraps on Fitzgerald or pressure Warner! Well, I guess we should be thankfull they gave us the thrill of another Championship game! More than 14 other NFC teams can say!

Sunday, January 18, 2009

Tim McCreadie Injured at Chili Bowl!

Former World of Outlaws Late Model Series Champion Tim McCreadie Suffers Back Injury In Crash At Chili Bowl Midget Nationals
TULSA, OK – Jan. 15, 2009 – Former World of Outlaws Late Model Series champion and longtime Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Modified Series competitor Tim McCreadie suffered a back injury in a wild crash Wednesday night during the 23rd annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals at Tulsa Expo Raceway.

McCreadie, 34, of Watertown, N.Y., was found to have a fractured T-3 vertebra and floating bone fragments in his back after flipping over the turn-one fence of the indoor one-fifth-mile dirt track while leading the night’s first ‘A’ qualifier. The rearend of McCreadie’s Midget broke right-of-center as he set the car into the first corner, sending him into a high-flying series of flips that ended with his machine landing upside down on a parked Bobcat vehicle and then falling to the concrete floor on its frame rails.

McCreadie was recuperating on Thursday afternoon in a Tulsa hospital. His close friend, USAC’s James Spink, accompanied McCreadie to the hospital and reported that the superstar driver was “extremely sore” but otherwise in good spirits.

A local specialist who examined McCreadie said he did not think the bone fragments are an issue and surgery likely won’t be necessary, but USAC’s Jason Smith contacted Dr. Terry Trammell, the renowned Indianapolis-based Orthopedic Surgeon who has helped many injured drivers over the years, for a second opinion. Trammell was expected to review an MRI of McCreadie’s back and talk with doctors in Tulsa late Thursday afternoon.
