AUSTIN LANGENSTEIN SUMMER SHOOTOUT

Monday June 10th Austin Langenstein and the #7 Cray Motorsports Legends team were back out at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Austin was back on pavement for only the 2nd time this year.Under cloudy conditions Austin would qualify 5th out of the stout 26 car field. Austin would race in the top 5 all night long and contend for the win and at the drop of the checkered flag the #7 car would finish in the 3rd position. But unfortunately Austin's car would fail post race tech and would be stripped of his awesome run for some parts that were in the gray area of the rule book.Austin said after the race " Man that is disappointing to fail tech for parts that we honestly thought were legal. We do our best to maximize the rules but not over step the line. At the end of the day we were working in the gray area and the officials had to penalize us because the parts weren't black or white, but we will be back tomorrow night stronger then ever!On Tuesday Austin made changes to the #7 car to make sure he was 100% within the rule book. Austin's first laps on of the night would be for qualifying where he would end up 9th out of 26 cars after a small tire rub on the right front of the car. Austin would start the 30 lap main event from 9th in front of a packed house of at CMS of over 5,000 fans, He would quickly move through the field and be running in the 4th place by half way.Austin would ride in fourth for a few laps and on the last restart Austin would make an awesome move and get to 2nd position with two laps to go. Austin would run out of time to pass the leader and finish the night in the 2nd position!Austin would also pick up the Maxima Racing Oils Slick Move of the night for the passes he made through out the race!Austin and the team will be back at it next Tuesday night for Race 3 of the 10 race Jack In The Box Summer Shootout. After the race Austin said-'' What a great race we fought back after the disappointment of last night and proved that the parts on the car last night had nothing to do with how we ran as we ran better tonight with out them, I also need to thank Cray Motorsports, Progenex, The SpiderTech Tape ,FK Rod Ends,Swift Springs, RX Jump Ropes,  Grip4orce,The Brake Man, Brown & Miller Racing Solutions,R&B Transport Refinishing, Motor Headz, Cowpatty Nation and Piranha Ultra Sonic Cleaning. For daily updates on Austin please Follow Austin on Twitter and Instagram at @alangenstein7 and check his website at austinlangenstein.net
