Langenstein returns and the bad luck continues!

On Tuesday night July 23rd Austin Langenstein and the Cray Motorsports team returned to the track for the first time in 5 weeks due to breaking his wrist and then his team's hauler catching on fire due to being struck by lightening.Round 8 of the 20th annual Jack In The Box Summer Shootout series at Charlotte Motor Speedway was also double points night which normally makes for a crazy night at the famous speedway. With a new engine in the #7 car and a decent practice the night before, Austin would start the 25 car main event from the 12th position! The green flag would drop and Austin would get a good start and get to the preferred bottom line going into the first corner of the 30 lap main event and would cross the line to end the first lap in 9th position. Then in the middle of turn's 1 and 2 on the second lap the cars running in the 3rd, 4th and 5th position's got together spinning in front of the rest of the field collecting Austin and five other cars resulting in a nine car pile up. Austin pitted and the #7 Cray team went to work on the car to try to fix the bent front suspension pieces. Austin would come in three different times to pit and try to stay on the lead lap.Austin would go back out and run 10 more laps passing cars and getting back within the top 15 before retiring the car for the night due to the LF front steering arm finally breaking completely .After the race we caught up with Austin "It felt great to be back on track, We didn't get the Q run we wanted but the car was set up for the long run.I got a good start and picked up 3 spots right away and then the bad luck continued. The track was blocked I had know where to go and we got pushed in it.I'm going to keep my head up because I know when you race as much as I do, you will hit rough spots in the road and it makes you stronger in the end"Austin and the #7 team will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday night's for the final two rounds of the Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway! Thanks as always to all my sponsors- Cray Motorsports, Progenex, The SpiderTech Tape ,FK Rod Ends,Swift Springs, RX Jump Ropes, Sparco, Grip4orce,Smith Optics, Soak Fitness,The Brake Man, Coolture Cooling vests, Brown & Miller Racing Solutions,R&B Transport Refinishing, Motorsports Tech,Motor Headz, Cowpatty Nation and Piranha Ultra Sonic Cleaning. For daily updates please Follow me on Twitter and Instagram at @alangenstein7 and check my website at austinlangenstein.net
