BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY READY FOR WORLD OF OUTLAW LATE MODELS THIS COMING TUESDAY, JUNE 24TH

After months of anticipation, it's finally time.  This coming Tuesday, June 24th, the World Of Outlaw Late Models invade Big Diamond Speedway for what is sure to be a spectacular event.

This will be the first appearance of the World of Outlaw Late Models at Big Diamond in exactly 5 years to the day.  Back on June 24th, 2009, Josh Richards took home the victory in the "Coal Country 40" feature event, collecting $7,600 for his efforts.  This years "Diamond Shines 40" will pay a hefty $8,000 to win and $600 just to take the green in the feature event.  Leading the Outlaw contingent into town will be current point leader and four time tour winner Darrell Lanigan.  Aside from his World Of Outlaw victories, Lanigan currently has two other wins this season and 17 top five finishes in 21 events.  Also expected are Pennsylvania's own Rick Eckert and Chub Frank.  Driving the Rocket Chassis house car this season, Eckert has five wins to his credit, including victories in two of the first five "DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour" races currently going on in the midwestern United States.  Out of 36 races run so far this season, Eckert has finished in the top ten 27 times.  Frank has one win in 20 starts this season, that win coming on June 1st at the Eriez Speedway.  Also expected to be in competition are Modified and Late Model senssation Tim McCreadie, Shane Clanton, Morgan Bagley, Eric Wells, Clint Smith, Frankie Heckenast Jr., Chase Junghans, Rick 'Boom' Briggs, and many more.  A strong local turnout of Late Model talent is also expected to challenge for the top prize.  The 2009 race brought 46 Super Late Models to the Schuykill County oval.  With the Lucas Oil Series having an open date on their schedule and the Firecracker 100 weekend at Lernerville on tap just a few days later, a large contingent of cars is expected to be in the area and ready to compete.  Hoosier 1300 1325 and 1450 tires along with American Racer 44 and 53 tires will be the only compounds allowed for this event.

The Savage 61 Roadrunners will also be in action in a 20 lap points event.

Grandstand general admission for this event will be $30.00, with kids 12 and under free.  Pit participation fees will be #35.00 for Big Diamond and World Of Outlaw members, and $40.00 for non-members.  Pit gates open at 4:00 PM and grandstand gates open at 5:00 PM, with warm-ups scheduled for 7:30 PM.  Time trials will begin immediately following warm-ups.
