Big Diamond Speedway Rained Out

MINERSVILLE, PA. – For the third consecutive Friday, rain has forced the cancellation of the racing action at the Big Diamond Speedway.

That’s the bad news.

The good news is the ever popular American Racing Drivers Club midgets have been added to the card for next Friday, May 20.

Big Diamond will be back in action on Tuesday as the Short Track Super Series makes its annual visit to the coal region oval for the Anthracite Assault. The 50-lap big block/small-block feature pays $5,000 to win.

The STSS Open Sportsman series makes its debut on Tuesday. The 600 modifieds will be in action to round out the three-division show.

There is a special start time of 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday night.

Next Friday, the ARDC midgets will join the U.S.S. Achey Sportsman, Savage 61 roadrunners, and No Sweat Service Group street stocks along with the Kim’s Kreation’s Mechanics Race.

The previously scheduled Sportsman Challenge has been moved to June 3.

The month of May concludes on the 27th with the Mark’s Service Center Night; Gone But Not Forgotten Memorial featuring the CJ’s Tire & Automotive Services 358 modifies, sportsman, roadrunners, street stocks and the vintage cars.
