GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY HAD THEIR SATURDAY NIGHT NASCAR STOCK CAR RACING RAINED OUT FOR THE THIRD SATURDAY IN A ROW

BECHTELSVILLE, PA May 21, 2016 . . . There is an old saying, “Rain, rain go away, come again another day.” The management of Grandview Speedway would prefer if the rain would just go away and not come again, at least on race nights, until the auto racing season is completed.
For the third straight Saturday NASCAR stock car racing at Grandview Speedway was rained out. The last year that Graandview suffered three straight rainouts was 2003.
“According to our records it has been at least a dozen years since we have had three straight Saturday programs rained out,” said track spokesperson Tina Rogers. “All we can do is hope for a better weather pattern to move into the area as we have Memorial Day weekend moving in.”
The coming weekend will feature a tripleheader show of NASCAR stock car racing on Saturday night, May 28, featuring the NASCAR T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars. Racing will start at 7:30 p.m. with spectator gates opening at 5:30 p.m. The popular racer meet and greet, presented by Low Down and Dirty radio, is set for 5 p.m. and features a driver from each division meeting fans.
Again this week Pocono Raceway and WNPV-1440AM Radio in Lansdale, the area NASCAR station, will be trying to give away more than $1,000 worth of tickets for the big NASCAR racing weekend at Pocono, June 4-5.
Then on Sunday, May 29th, the Pioneer Pole Buildings Thunder on the Hill three division show will feature the Big Block/358 Modifieds, Sportsman and TSRS 305 Sprint cars in racing action starting at 7:30 p.m. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. The Big Block/358 Modifieds will be racing for $5,000 to win and that will surely attract many top names in the sport. This will be an NASCAR point event for the 358 Modifieds. Adult admission is $25 while young people 6-11 pay $10 and those under 6 will be admitted FREE. Pit admission is $35 with no special license required.
The recently rained out Whelen Engineering Night has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 2nd.
Grandview Speedway, a one-third-mile, banked clay track, is located on Passmore Road just off Route 100 in Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown. A full assortment of great concessions and novelty items are available. Free parking on the grounds. Fans are invited to the competition area after the events are completed to meet the racers.
