The Hot Rod Processing #46 Super Late Model Finishes 7th In First Race!

Selinsgrove, PAApril 8, 2017For the first time in 2017 Dan Green drove the #46 Super Late Model at Selinsgrove Speedway against the top drivers in Pennsylvania. Dan started 6th in the Late Model heat and during the race the air cleaner came off forcing Dan to make a quick pit stop so the team could put a different one on to finish the event. Dan finished the race in 10th spot.
Feature Time!
Dan started 10th in the 20 lap Feature.  As the green flag flew he got boxed in behind two slower cars and took a couple laps to get by them. By that time, the rest of the field was quite a bit ahead as Dan fell into a groove and ran some fast laps. The race went green the entire 20 laps and Dan ended up 7th in the final rundown. The team was happy with the way the car performed being the first run of the year for the Super Late Model.   This first race afforded the team and Dan some quality seat time to settle in and prepare for several big races coming up this year. It was pretty obvious we needed this time considering the incident in the heat race…. if we know anything about racing we know that you should never have the air cleaner fly off.  Definitely unexpected and the whole crew was upset we missed checking that!  In racing it’s sometimes the little things that can create the biggest things!

Next two weeks we are off!

The next race for Dan and the team will be Saturday April 29th at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, PA for the first of 6 races that are the “Moonshine Camo Rt. 35 Dirt Late Model Challenge Series”. That series consists of 3 races at Port Royal and 3 at Selinsgrove during this summer.  Then it’s off to Georgetown Speedway on May 11th, Potomac Speedway May 12th and Winchester Speedway May 13th for the “Tri-State Challenge”. Two Weeks at Susquehanna Speedway with the Limited Late Model!

Dan and the G & H Motorsports team traveled to Susquehanna Speedway on March 18th and 25th and had two fun weeks but the results were not what the team hoped for. On March 18th Dan was running 8th with just a handful of laps left when he developed a right rear flat in the feature causing him to pull in and end up 13th in the final finishing order. March 25th was even rougher as small problems with the car had Dan pull in during the B-Main and not make the Feature event.
