Coatesville, PA – November13, 2017 – On
a great weather weekend the G & H Motorsports team headed south the
Georgetown Delaware to the famed Georgetown Speedway. 2017 was the
team’s first year fielding a Super Late Model and a Limited Late Model
but after running the Limited a couple times moved strictly to the Super
for the rest of the year. It turned into an up and down season. Dan
Green drove the Lazer Chassis #46 at 7 different tracks in 3 states and
had plans on 3 other tracks in 2 more states if Mother Nature would have
cooperated.
Williams Grove Speedway, Friday October 6th!
Williams
Grove Speedway’s Run “What Ya Brung” for the Super Late Models gave Dan
and the team a chance to “break-in” the newly purchased 430 Super motor
after the primary motor was sent back for a rebuild at Craiger Race
Engines in NY. Some of the teams decided to put what seemed like
billboards on the side of theirs cars, Dan and the team wanted to see
how the motor ran so we stayed the course with our standard look. Dan
started 7th in the heat and drove to a 5th place finish. The feature had Dan involved in a first lap mix-up, after starting 10th,
after heading to the pits for quick repairs restarted in the rear. The
25 lap event had a few more cautions but Dan was able to drive back up
to 12th at the finish.
Georgetown Speedway, Friday and Saturday October 27th, 28th!
The
Little Anthony’s Pizza & Grille #46 was loaded into the trailer and
the team headed to Georgetown Speedway on Friday for the Mid-Atlantic
Championship Weekend. It was this race last year the Dan made his first
start in the Super Late Model class. Friday night was Warm-ups, Time
Trials and Heat races for the Supers, Dan timed 18th out of the 24 registered cars. This had Dan starting 6th in the 3rd heat race and after the scheduled 8 laps he finished in the 5th
spot. Saturday had the team arriving at the track early to unload and
make changes to the #46 car, with help from Ricky Elliot, Chuck Schultz
and the #ONE team, several changes were made. Chuck had planned to run
in the weekend event but during the Friday night heat race his motor let
go ending their weekend, but they stayed to watch the Saturday races
and spent most of the day helping Dan and the 46 team. Dan took the car
out for warm-ups and the car worked a lot better so more changes were
made for the 40 lap Feature event. Starting 15th for the race Dan was up to 9th
at one time but during a restart he was involved in a multi car accident
and he had to make a trip to the pits to fix some of the sheet metal
and upon return to the race restarted in the rear of the field. As the
race wore on Dan put laps on the car as he had no power steering but was
determined to finish the race. At the checkered Dan finished 11th. Congratulations to Ricky Elliott who picked up the win.
2018 Schedule!
The
first event for the G & H Motorsports team will be at the Area Auto
Racing News Motorsports Trade and Car Show on January 19th, 20th and 21st. The car will be in HotRod Processing’s booth for the 4th year in a row. Make plans now to visit us at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.
After
a year of traveling to different tracks the team has decided that our
home track in 2018 will be Selinsgrove Speedway. The team will also
compete in the Super Late Model "Clash for Cash" which is being hosted
by Georgetown, Wincheser, Bedford, and Hagerstown Speedways. We also will travel to other speedways for special shows in 2018 but the main focus will be at Selinsgrove Speedway!
Thank you!
Dan and the 46 team have so many people to thank who helped us in this maiden year in the Super Late Model. With
your support we were able to compete with some of the best racing teams
in the area and found the team able to handle the extra time and effort
it takes to become part of the competition! There are too many to list but the bottom line is if you helped in ANY way "THANK YOU!" We will be working over the winter to ensure that we are at the Motorsports show and on the track in 2018!
