COAL REGION RACING TO HONOR HALL OF FAME CLASS IN 2019; INDUCTEES OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED…By Gary Lileck

Landingville, PA – Coal Region Racing will officially induct twenty-five names into their Hall of Fame on Saturday evening April 6 2019. The festivities will be held at the spacious Landingville Community Fire Company Hall, located at 1 Firehouse Rd.
                            
     Tickets are available now by mailing Coal Region Racing, 417 Newcastle Street, Minersville PA 17954 or by calling Mike at 570-294-2669. Admission is $25 per person with meal and refreshments included (cash bar only/no BYOB). Doors will open at 4:00PM with dinner served at 5:30PM. Deadline to order tickets for the banquet is March 16th 2019.
 
     During the past several months Coal Region Racing collected ballots for the upcoming Hall of Fame. All fans, drivers, and area auto racing enthusiasts voted for their favorite choices and this past weekend the final votes were tabulated.
 
     Coal Region Racing would like to congratulate each of the 25 nominees for their achievements in racing and sincerely thank them for their contributions to our sport.
 
     The well established list includes: Hal Lord, Stan Weitzel, Drick Hendricks, Jerry & Peg Frank, Russ Smith, Zeke Meyer, Wilbur "Ears" Maberry, Joe & Bernie Kuperavage, DB Muscara, Larry Alati, Rick Huff, Carl Hess, George Meyers, Dave Schoffstall, Roy Wiest, Charlie Bubeck, Jerry Katz, Lauden Potts, Fritz Roehrig, Dick Maberry, Bob Emerich, Jack Trumbo, Fran Purcell Sr., Eddie Mates Sr., and Jim Somers.
 
     In other news pertaining to the banquet, Schuylkill County Commissioner Gary Hess is personally attending the festivites. He will be making a proclamation of permanent record of Schuylkill County history for each of the twenty-five inductees. More information will be released concerning this story in the near future.
