August 7, 2020 - Mark Naftzinger loved to race. It was his true passion. On August 20 2016, Mark emerged victorious in the Daniel Boone 150 enduro race at Kutztown's Action Track USA. Filled with emotion in victory lane, he commented that this was indeed the most special win of his career as he grew up watching the prestigious Daniel Boone 200 Modified shows at the Reading (PA) Fairgrounds). Sadly, Mark passed away the following year in 2017.
This season, the Outlaw Enduro Series will present the Mark Naftzinger Memorial at Action Track on Friday Evening Aug 14th. Since Mark utilized car-3 throughout his illustrious career each endurance race will carry an additional three circuits. The traditional JunkYard car enduro at the Kutztown based dirt track will be 103-laps while the Big Cars and Small Cars are competing in 53-lap enduros for each class. The Mechanics race is slated for 13-laps.
The payout for the JunkYard class will be: 1) $400, 2) $250, 3) $150, 4) $100, 5) $50. If there are more than 25 cars the payout will be adjusted. Pit gates open at 4:00PM, Grandstands will swing open at 5:00PM and racing begins at 6:00PM. Pit admission is $25 and grandstand price will be just $10. Kids 12 and under are free.
This will be a non-point show for the enduro classes. Points racing returns the following Friday night August 21st at Grandview Speedway.
