Dan Green’s Hot Rod Tracker #46 Gets On Track After A Few Weeks Off! (SDS Photo)

Coatesville, PAMay 28, 2016 –Hot, Sunny, Saturday makes a race team happy! After three straight weeks of rainouts the G& H Motorsports team was ready to have a good night of racing at Grandview Speedway. With the Hot Rod Tracker NASCAR BRC Dirt Late Model #46 loaded in the trailer, the team headed to the track in the late afternoon. With a quick stop at Little Anthony’s Pizza and Grille to pick up a hoagie try for dinner we made it to the track to set up the car and sell the new Dan Green #46 T-shirts, hoodies and hats!
Heat Race
Dan was scheduled to start the 8 lap heat race in 6th but 1st place starter #00 of Eric Hoch first chose to start in the rear then chose to let 4th place starter Chuck Schutz take over the driving of the #00 after his #1 machine developed engine issues in warm-ups. That put Dan in 4th for the start of the race. The green flag was thrown and Dan was passed by Cory Merkel #16 and on lap 4 while battling Devin Fry #62F, Dan tagged the inside yuke tire. The good thing was Dan hit the tire square so the only real damage was the front bumper with no harm to the front suspension.
Team goes to work
As the tow truck brought the #46 to the pit area Scott Green, Jim Alexander, Phil Jelke, Michael Wynne, Debbie Dutter, Cathy Green and Brett Higginbotham started getting ready to fix the Scott Select NASCAR BRC Late Model. The team worked together and had the car ready for the feature well before they were called to get lined up over the pit speakers. The team would like to thank the other late model teams that offered help and/or acknowledged how well the team did with getting the car ready for the feature.
Feature Event
The DNF in the heat race had Dan starting 14th in the 25 lap feature event. At the drop of the green racing was immediately intense and Lou Egrie Jr. ended up hitting the outside wall, then came down across the track in front of Dan who made every effort to miss the #4e but had nowhere to go and they made contact. The red came out to tend to a shaken Egrie Jr. After the caution came back out Dan made a quick pit stop to straighten out some of the body work from contact with Egrie Jr. Restarting in the rear Dan fought an ill handling car and after a few more cautions for other accidents Dan was able to take home a 7th place finish. The ill handling came from the team going too far with the adjustments that were made to the car for the feature. Sometimes you hit on the set-ups and sometimes you just miss it. We missed it. The top ten finish had Dan move from 7th to 4th in points as some of the competitors that were ahead of Dan at the beginning of the night had trouble in the feature. Congratulations to Bryan Sipe #33s for his first win of the year and his second career win at Grandview Speedway.
Get Well Wishes
G & H Motorsports would like to send out Get Well wishes to Sean Merkel #118 who had a health issue with his eye that will have him missing a few weeks of racing and also to Lou Egrie Jr #4e who ended up with a mild concussion from hitting the outside wall. Wayne Pfeil #72 damaged his car Wednesday night at a test and tune at another track and was unfortunately unable to get it repaired for Saturday night.
Team News
Don’t forget Dan now has T-shirts and Hoodies! Pick yours up soon, at the track or if you can’t make it to the track email us and we can work something out. Shirts are $15, Hoodies are $25 and Hats are $10. Very reasonable for any race fan! If you are unable to make it to Grandview Speedway please email us and we will be able to send to you!
Next Event
The next event for the Linda’s Hair Techniques #46 will be at Grandview Speedway June 4th for a triple header racing program of the T.P. Trailers Modifieds, BRC Late Models, and Sportsmans starting at 7:30 PM. Adult admission is $15 while youngsters 11 and under get in for free. Military with proper ID are admitted free.
Coming up on July 2nd will be an appearance at Little Anthony’s Pizza and Grille in Honey Brook, PA, more information will follow soon.

GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY HAD THEIR SATURDAY NIGHT NASCAR STOCK CAR RACING RAINED OUT FOR THE THIRD SATURDAY IN A ROW

BECHTELSVILLE, PA May 21, 2016 . . . There is an old saying, “Rain, rain go away, come again another day.” The management of Grandview Speedway would prefer if the rain would just go away and not come again, at least on race nights, until the auto racing season is completed.
For the third straight Saturday NASCAR stock car racing at Grandview Speedway was rained out. The last year that Graandview suffered three straight rainouts was 2003.
“According to our records it has been at least a dozen years since we have had three straight Saturday programs rained out,” said track spokesperson Tina Rogers. “All we can do is hope for a better weather pattern to move into the area as we have Memorial Day weekend moving in.”
The coming weekend will feature a tripleheader show of NASCAR stock car racing on Saturday night, May 28, featuring the NASCAR T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars. Racing will start at 7:30 p.m. with spectator gates opening at 5:30 p.m. The popular racer meet and greet, presented by Low Down and Dirty radio, is set for 5 p.m. and features a driver from each division meeting fans.
Again this week Pocono Raceway and WNPV-1440AM Radio in Lansdale, the area NASCAR station, will be trying to give away more than $1,000 worth of tickets for the big NASCAR racing weekend at Pocono, June 4-5.
Then on Sunday, May 29th, the Pioneer Pole Buildings Thunder on the Hill three division show will feature the Big Block/358 Modifieds, Sportsman and TSRS 305 Sprint cars in racing action starting at 7:30 p.m. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. The Big Block/358 Modifieds will be racing for $5,000 to win and that will surely attract many top names in the sport. This will be an NASCAR point event for the 358 Modifieds. Adult admission is $25 while young people 6-11 pay $10 and those under 6 will be admitted FREE. Pit admission is $35 with no special license required.
The recently rained out Whelen Engineering Night has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 2nd.
Grandview Speedway, a one-third-mile, banked clay track, is located on Passmore Road just off Route 100 in Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown. A full assortment of great concessions and novelty items are available. Free parking on the grounds. Fans are invited to the competition area after the events are completed to meet the racers. For information telephone 610.754.7688 or check in at www.grandviewspeedway.com, Twitter@GrandviewSpeedway and www.facebook.com/grandviewspeedway along with Rainedout.com (for rainout information).

GRANDVIEW CANCELED DUE TO RAIN

This evenings race events are canceled. We tried to hold off in hopes that the forecast would be incorrect, or the impending storms would break up. However, after closely watching the radar all day and it still showing severe thunderstorms and heavy rain entering the area we have tried to make the best decision for everyone. Thank you for your continued support and hope to see you next Saturday May 21st

Big Diamond Speedway Rained Out

MINERSVILLE, PA. – For the third consecutive Friday, rain has forced the cancellation of the racing action at the Big Diamond Speedway.

That’s the bad news.

The good news is the ever popular American Racing Drivers Club midgets have been added to the card for next Friday, May 20.

Big Diamond will be back in action on Tuesday as the Short Track Super Series makes its annual visit to the coal region oval for the Anthracite Assault. The 50-lap big block/small-block feature pays $5,000 to win.

The STSS Open Sportsman series makes its debut on Tuesday. The 600 modifieds will be in action to round out the three-division show.

There is a special start time of 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday night.

Next Friday, the ARDC midgets will join the U.S.S. Achey Sportsman, Savage 61 roadrunners, and No Sweat Service Group street stocks along with the Kim’s Kreation’s Mechanics Race.

The previously scheduled Sportsman Challenge has been moved to June 3.

The month of May concludes on the 27th with the Mark’s Service Center Night; Gone But Not Forgotten Memorial featuring the CJ’s Tire & Automotive Services 358 modifies, sportsman, roadrunners, street stocks and the vintage cars.

For the latest news, be sure to like the Big Diamond Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/bigdiamondspeedway, and follow the speedway on Twitter, @BigDSpeed.

BIG DIAMOND'S ‘ANTHRACITE ASSAULT’ AT BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY HAS BEEN POSTPONED

Due to the current radar and showers predicted throughout the day, today’s ‘Anthracite Assault’ presented by H.B. Steele & Co. has been postponed to the rain date of Tuesday, May 17. The decision was made out of respect to teams and fans traveling to this event. As the only combined North & South Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By VP event all season for the Modifieds and inaugural STSS Open Sportsman program, racers were traveling from no less than six states. Thank you all for the support!

GRANDVIEW CANCELLED

BECHTELSVILLE, PA May 7, 2016 . . . All the rain may be great for the May flowers but it is not good for auto racing on the Grandview Speedway clay track. The tripleheader show of NASCAR stock car racing, featuring the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman racers has been canceled for tonight (Saturday, May 7). The overly saturated grounds, a result of all the rain that has fallen in the area, have made it impossible to get the track into racing condition.

REST IN PEACE BRUCE THOMAS (SDS Photo)

Very saddened by the news of the passing of my friend Bruce. I have known Bruce for the past 8+ years as we became closer as time went on. We shared racing stories and some personal ones too. Always enjoyed our conversations. I want to Thank You Bruce for sharing all of you excellent photography over the years with me. I was always greeted with a smile and some kind words. God Speed and may you rest in peace!
